Hi there! Iâm Caitlain, the heart and hands behind Caitlain Fergusonâa wrapping paper and paper goods brand inspired by all things whimsical, nostalgic, and joyfully hand-drawn.
People often ask me, âHow did you get into wrapping paper?â And to be honest, it started with two things: an obsession with gift-giving and a sketchbook that followed me everywhere.
âď¸ From Doodles to Designs
Growing up, I was the kind of person who loved the presentation just as much as the gift itself. Iâd spend hours choosing just the right paper, pairing it with twine, a tiny trinket, or a sprig of something seasonal. It wasnât just about wrappingâit was storytelling.
While my professional path first led me through law school and branding (yep, trademarks and all!), my heart always belonged to the creative world. One day, somewhere between branding mood boards and late-night doodles, I thought, âWhat if I turn my sketches into wrapping paper?â That single thought sparked a journey I havenât looked back from.
đ Why Wrapping Paper?
To me, wrapping paper is an art form we often overlook. Itâs the first impression before a gift is even opened. It builds anticipation, creates delight, andâwhen designed with heartâcan turn an ordinary moment into something magical.
I wanted to create paper that felt like a warm hug. Patterns that made you smile. Elements that captured everything from cozy holiday mornings to spontaneous summer birthdays. And most of all, I wanted it to feel personal. Like it came from someone who loves wrapping gifts as much as you do.
đż A Little About the Process
Every design starts by handâsketched in pencil or pen, usually with a cup of tea nearby and my dog napping under the table. I work in collections, often inspired by seasons, memories, color palettes, or even vintage wallpaper. From there, I digitize the drawings, add color, texture, and play with scale until it feels just right.
Then comes the paper itselfâethically printed, thoughtfully sourced, and always made with care. Iâm a firm believer in sustainable choices, so I partner with print studios that share that same commitment to the environment.
đ From Me to You
This journey into wrapping paper has been one of rediscoveryâof creativity, of joy, and of purpose. I created Caitlain Ferguson to celebrate the little things: the ribbon that curls just right, the card that makes someone tear up, the wrap that makes you smile before you even see whatâs inside.
Thank you for being here. For believing in handmade joy and for letting my designs become part of your most meaningful moments.
Hereâs to more beauty in the everyday,
Caitlain
